1. Website Use By using
- eldercompanionservices.co.uk, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy.
- Website content is for general information and may change without notice.
2. Nature of Services
- We provide non-medical companionship and light domestic support.
- We do not offer CQC‑regulated personal care, nursing procedures, medical treatment, or emergency response.
- Our support may include encouraging a client to eat or drink as part of normal conversation, but does not include prompting or supervision of eating, drinking, washing, dressing, or medication, as these fall within the legal definition of regulated personal care.
- Where a client’s needs increase to require such support, we will inform the client’s family or nominated representative so that regulated care can be arranged; we do not provide care assessments or care planning.
- Food and Drink Support: Our companions may reheat meals already prepared by the client or a family member, and may prepare simple ready-to-eat food and drinks such as hot drinks, toast, cereal, or a sandwich from ready-prepared ingredients. Companions do not cook meals from raw ingredients, follow recipes, or prepare food where this support is required because the client is unable to do so themselves due to illness, infirmity, disability, or old age.
- Transport: Our companions may accompany clients on foot, by public transport, or by licensed taxi, where requested. Companions do not transport
clients in a private or personal vehicle under any circumstances. Where a taxi or public transport is used, any associated fares or costs are the responsibility of the client and are not included in our service fees unless otherwise agreed in writing. - Medical & GP Appointment Accompaniment: Where requested, our companions may accompany a client to medical, GP, hospital, or other healthcare appointments for company and reassurance during travel and waiting periods. Companions remain in waiting/reception areas only and do not enter consultation rooms, treatment bays, or any clinical area with the client. Companions do not participate in medical discussions, receive or relay clinical information on the client’s behalf, or make decisions relating to the client’s care or treatment.
3. Booking, Pricing & Cancellation
- All rates are clearly stated before booking.
- No hidden fees or clinical surcharges.
- Online/phone bookings include a 14 day cancellation right under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations (unless services begin with your consent).
- After this period, cancellations require 24 hours notice to avoid a booking fee.
4. Safety & Professional Standards
- All staff hold Enhanced DBS clearance and training in hygiene, safeguarding, fire safety, emergency first aid, and basic moving & handling.
- We may decline tasks that are unsafe or outside our service scope.
